Selecting a source code editor is entirely up to your personal preference. Some people prefer GUI applications, while others prefer terminal-based editors. Sometime a generic editor is sufficient, while other times an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) can make things more convenient. Regardless, we highly recommend installing an editor that is oriented towards working with source code (ex: don't settle for Notepad/Wordpad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac just because it's there). Robotics at Cal Poly I'm a Senior in High School applying to colleges. What major at Cal Poly would give me the most involvement in Robotics? Robotics is inherently a multidisciplinary field, and people from several fields will be involved with most robotics projects.

The Robotics Club is an inter-disciplinary club, welcoming students from all majors and all levels of technical knowledge. We are a project-oriented club, and are divided into a number of partially independent project teams, among which members can distribute their time. Projects are begun as members step forward with a proposal that garners enough interest from other members to form a core project team.
